Fast, flexible private prescriptions – in paper or electronic format.
As an independent practice, we provide private prescriptions whenever medication is required. You can choose a traditional paper prescription or a secure electronic prescription – whichever is most convenient for you.
Paper prescriptions
A traditional signed prescription that you can take to any pharmacy of your choice.
Electronic prescriptions
Sent securely by our clinicians to a community pharmacy for you to collect – or for delivery to your home.
Electronic prescriptions with SignatureRx
For electronic prescriptions we use SignatureRx, a secure private electronic prescribing service used by thousands of clinics across the UK. Our clinicians can send your prescription electronically to the majority of community pharmacies, for you to collect in person or have delivered to your home address. It is a seamless, hassle-free way to receive your medication – with no paper prescription to collect or post.
How it works
- Your clinician issues your prescription securely through SignatureRx after your consultation.
- You receive your prescription details by text message and/or email.
- Choose a participating pharmacy to collect from, or opt for delivery to your home address.
- Pay the pharmacy for your medication when it is dispensed.
Safe and secure
Every SignatureRx prescription is protected by an advanced electronic signature, in line with UK prescribing regulations. Prescribers are identity-checked, and prescriptions are encrypted so they cannot be altered once issued.
Some medicines, such as certain controlled drugs, must still be issued on a paper prescription. Our team will let you know if this applies to you.
Prescription costs
The pharmacy will charge for the cost of the medication, and may also charge a dispensing fee (usually in the region of £5); delivery charges may apply if you choose home delivery. The cost of individual medications varies – for more expensive medications, our GPs will discuss this with you in advance.
There is no additional charge for a prescription issued within a GP consultation. Please note that prescriptions cannot be issued to new patients without a GP consultation. See our Fees page for full details.
Repeat prescriptions
We can provide repeat prescriptions. If the medication was started by one of our clinicians, simply email your request and our GP will review it. If it was started by another practice, we will need documentation of the treatment for our doctor to review – please ask a member of our team for more details. There is a £25 repeat prescription fee.
