A note from our founder
Why I started The Private GP Clinic
I became a GP because I wanted to look after people properly – to know my patients, to really listen to them, and to be there for them and their families over the years.
Working in the NHS, I admired my colleagues enormously. But I also saw how time and funding pressures made that kind of care harder and harder to give. A ten-minute appointment rarely leaves room to understand the whole person, to join up the different strands of their care, or simply to be kind without one eye on the clock. Too often, patients were not getting the care they deserved – and as their doctor, I felt that keenly.
In 2013 I opened The Private GP Clinic to do things differently. Here, appointments are unhurried. You see a doctor who knows you. Our GPs, nurse, psychologist and dietitian work together as one team, and every patient is treated with the compassion, dignity and care I would want for my own family.
